Thumbs up Permission to come aboard...

My wife and I just bought a 31 1978 Airstream Soverign and will slowly but surely be migrating into the RV life style. After years of excursions to the far off sand boxes of the M.E., I look forward to taking my wife on excursions of a domestic nature. We will definitely be looking for information on upkeeping our Airstream, and down the road modifying the interior ...... as she is no fan of the 70's decor, as I am! Any advise will be very welcome.

Congrat's on a lifetime adventure. When we purchased our vintage, you had to "see" the potential, beyond the gold shag and green upholstery. I explained to my wife that this was a whole new outlet for shopping, and with clear vision could transform this diamond in the rough. She was off and running, I had trouble keeping up. That one's gone, we did another, I'm still looking - she said only one at a time for now. You will have a lot of fun - keep it moving down the road. Airstreams were built for travelling.

And I was beginning to think that they were built for refurbishing! Maybe that's because after a month inside my "new to me" (we need a new acronym, NTM) Sovereign I finally got the water system fixed (the biggest job), new electrical, two Fantastic Vents, and rear half covered with Pergo. But what's life, without projects to keep you from doing what you thought you wanted to do?

Keep transforming that diamond!

Welcome and congratulations on your new Airstream. You need no permission to join this group. No dues, no rules, other than polite love of our Airstreams.

Permission Granted!

Sounds like a Navy Man. Maybe Marine?
Don't forget to Fall In for muster and inspection.

Welcome to Airstreams and these Forums.

Welcome Aboard

From one sailer to another. Old sailers never die. They just go Airstream.
