Painting my Argosy

This is so cool to have access to so many people who actually know what they're talking about.The forums are great, but a little tough to navigate so far. I am about to buy my 1st Argosy 28' motorhome and the present owner says that he was going to have it painted with a good quality car paint and that sounds logical to me. Does anyone have knowledge as to the procedures and products to request from the paint shop? How about the price I should expect to pay?

but what's with the 'thumb down' image, r u bummed about something?

the front/read endcaps on the args are galvanized steel and can be painted like most auto body panels...

BUT the rest of the shell is ALUMINUM and must be prep'd and painted correctly or it's a wasted effort.

the paints need to flex/expand more than typical auto paint...

and there are a dozen other related issues.

using the right materials and prep a freshly painted arg' is a pretty thing...

for years and years.

OOPs I thought it was a chicken leg. I love chicken. They call me BBQMAN.
Thanks for all the input. My wife suggests that I find a local college auto shop to paint it. Any ideas or exp out there?

Hi Sam,
I am a new member myself, so understand about the navigation.
The original paints on the Argosy are Dupont Centari;
Brown is 44721-AM and the beige is 44534-A..
As I understand it, all still available. procedures are online at Dupont....John
