Old Airstreamer, new to Forums

Always read the Airstream Forums, but was never interested in joining until I learned about the Slide Out registry. I have a 2005 34 foot Classic LTD with a slide out. Don't know how to get with the other members, or where, other than here, to sign up.

Well you are practically there. Read the new posts and wait for that thread to pop up and reply to it and they will sign you up and welcome you.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I've been off the Forums for the better part of a year at the insistence of a girlfriend who thought that time not spent with her was time wasted (in hindsight she had it backwards), but now she's gone and I'm back and I just got carried away.

She went camping with me, twice. Had no concept of water conservation. Packed three times as many clothes as she wore on each trip, and twice as much food as we could eat. And a whole duffle bag of hair care and skin care products! Like the birds and the squirrels really cared if she looked her best. And she had zero interest in communal activities such as campfires or potlucks.

But that wasn't why we went our separate ways. I would tell all about it, but this is the wrong venue for the tale, lest I be banned for violating the forum's PG rating on the basis of vulgar language and suggestive situations. It is not a pretty tale, and it makes me look like the worst kind of fool.

Suffice to say that cynicism is my new way of life. Trusting anyone who says "I love you" is a thing of the past for me. Except my goddaughter, of course. She can say it and I'll believe it.

Thanks for having faith in us! Our membership has accounted for 71 of the Slide's produced by Airstream. We'd love to find the balance... if you happen to see someone who should be "Sliding Our Way" send'em on over to the S/OS thread.
