Smile not yet retired

My spouse and I have tent camped for the last 20 years. We bought our first travel trailer in August 2007. Of course it was an Airstream, a 1993 30' Excella(cost $20k). We bought a 2004 Chevy HD 2500 Diesel to pull the Airstream (cost $26k). We have just returned from a 1,500 road trip that took us from San Antonio, our home town, to Lafayette, La. then to Galveston, Palestine and then home to San Antonio. The trailer systems and truck performed well. We are looking forward to our next trip!

The street side metal rock-gurard on the 1993 Excella 1000 Classic Airstream Trailer came off while traveling and was not missed until our home arrival. Needless to say it is lost. The hinge that held the rock-guard to the trailer pulled loose leaving only holes where the screws holding the rock-guard hinge to the trailer were attached. I need a replacement rodk-guard and would like to know how to locate one. Airstream sells them new but I would like to buy one used for a better price.

Hi Skeeter, welcome! Wow - you had quite a maiden voyage with your new truck & Airstream. Glad almost all went well with the trip. Good luck with your search for a rock guard.

Send a Private Message to Inland RV Center (Andy) he should be able to help. They are listed in the Members Directory.

Welcome to the forums. I just retired this year -- it's great!

welcome, skeeter. wish I had seen you around lafayette (not enough silver toasters in this neck 'o the woods)

ebay would be the first place I'd have a look for your guard, odds aren't too good there for obscure items, though.

there's also several RV salvage yards around the country, try google searching for them. slim chances, again, but not impossible..

craigslist/ would be another long-shot, I think.

you'll probably end up at Inland or similar dealer. good luck.
