No towing for me.

Hiya,

I'm a UK resident, just returned from three weeks in the Rockies. Saw a lovely classic airstream and came home looking to buy. Sadly, it seems to be very difficult to make a towing van road-legal for the UK. If you know anything about models and methods for getting one on the road here, I'd be very interested. In the meantime, I'm looking at classic motorhomes instead. Any info on the best sites for finding one would be welcome.

By the way, I also have a penchant for Model T's and old custom cars. If you know of anywhere with pics of airstream/custom car combo pix, or "T" camper conversions, I'd be tickled pink!

Hi lendoyle, welcome! You might also do some reading in the "Global Streaming" forum here.

If you want to look at fun pictures of vintage trailers and cars, check out www.tincantourists.com.

Good luck with your search!

Hi there.
Briefly, you are aware that Airstream now has a Euro plant in England where they are now making Airstreams that are street legal for Europe. If I'm not mistaken, here they are 8.5 ft. wide and in Europe they will be the legal 7.5 ft wide, with electrical setup for you guys. You can probably get more infro from the Airstream.com site.

Just thought I'd let you know.
