Newbies from Northern Calif.
Have you seen the Disneyland commercial with the family thats leaving in the morning for the themepark.. The little boy that is laying in bed saying "I cant sleep.. Im too excited!" Thats me. I have owned many pull trailers, cabovers, fifthwheel and a class C motorhome but I always wanted an airstream.. i think since i was a little boy. My wife is not thrilled but is takin one for the team (she says) and we traded in the 2004 Winnebago for a 2001 70th anniversary 30' slideout. I have been looking at it for a week now and we took the drive down to Morgan Hill and signed the contract! Yippee.. I havent even brought it home and I cant stop thinking about it. Apparenty it was a trade in to the dealer in 2002 and the dealer kept it in inventory so the owner could use it. The airstream stayed indoors most of its life so the exterior looks great but i think he threw a few parties inside so i have a bit of work to do in there.. not a problem.. im a happy boy and my wife will come around.. I just know it.
We look forward to conversing will all of you as I start to dig in and see how everything works. What a great site.

Welcome to the forums. Your wife will catch "aluminitis" after your first trip out. The more we use our AS, the more we want to keep going, and going and going. Have fun.

Welcome
Welome to the forums Vinnie! There are a bunch of really nice people within these threads with a bunch of knowledge and good ideas. Hopefully you will learn a lot and enjoy some comraderie at the same time.
There are quite a few forum members from your neck of the woods (NorCal). They get together a couple times a year for a rally and have a grand old time. The next rally is in October at the Jackson Rancheria in the Sierra foothills. All are welcome to these events. You will have a good time guaranteed. Check out the thread here:

Thankyou.. I have seen a post about the Cassini ranch. I think it leans more towards pre 1970 vintage though.. would still be a good time with a bunch of nice people.
Thanks for the info

The Casini Ranch usually happens in April. The Airstreams are all mixed. There are vintage units and new units. They don't care as long as it's an Airstream!

Blue stripes.
Hi, vlamica. Nice looking trailer especially with those blue stripes. Mine were installed up-side-down to be a one of a kind.

We are only an hour from there. We joined a time share "resorts of distinction" group. Our home campground is in Nevada City but we can also venture out to several others. There is a camp ground that we have not seen yet and its across the street from Casini ranch. Just across from the rail cars and shops. Its very nice there on the river and with the price of fuel makes it even more appealing. Thanks for the heads up.

Hello Bob,
Thankyou. I cant wait to get it home. Im not sure if its in the excella class or limited. When i set my profile i selected the trailer that was closest to this one. Its a 2001 30' S/O. The profile only showed the limited in the 30 foot and the excella is 34' with a slide out. I used the vin decoder and i guess its just an odd ball? 70th anniversary?
