Hi everyone from Indiana.
Bruce & I bought our 1975 Sovereign (31 ft) in August. I thought by September we would be ready to go camping……..LOL A little cleaning and new carpet…Ha ha ha ha
To date (February 2008) we have replaced the hot water heater, furnace, floor, mattresses, sofa, stove& oven, refrigerator, axles, tires, awning. I’m not sure where we would be if it had not been for this web site. We are still excited and waiting very impatiently to go our first trip. I’ll let you all know how that goes. Even though I haven’t talk with you personally, thanks so much for all the help.

Welcome! Your story sounds familiar - when we first towed our Safari home, my mother walked in and said, "You could camp in this now!" Almost a year later, we took our first trip, but I'm glad we waited until we got everything fixed first. Remember, you're never "finished" working on a vintage trailer (but that's part of the fun!) Good luck and please let us see some pictures!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.
I will post some pics as soon as the ice melts, and I figure out how to do it.
I do have one problem with this forum, it's additive......
Thanks again

We redid the gaucho with new foam and fabric.
I had decided to make or order new drapes, so when I took the old ones down I wrote all over the backs in permanent ink. After all the money we have spent this year, wish I had thought about that one!!!!!!!!!!! Oh well live and learn. But all in all it has been fun and my husband is already looking for a second project
