Newbie with an oldie
Howdy
New to the forum, new to Airstreams, willing to learn. Bought my '59 Caravanner to sleep in at the hunting club. But it will be more fun than that restoring it.
Here's some pics of the outside still need to take pics of the inside. Not completely original inside. Rear window frame is gone, I put a piece of wood over the rear window in the pic to prevent rain from getting in the trailer until I can figure out if it is missing the frame or just the glass. It has the original sink, cabinet, gas light, upper cabinet. Street side has the orig cabinet, closet, shelves. No bath or divider in rear of camper. Paid $500 for it.

Congratulations on your new oldie, and it sounds like a great price too! If you are able to travel with her soon there are are upcoming rallies in Hiawassee, GA, and Walland,TN that may be of interest to you.
Here are the links to both events.
Airstream Forums - SPRINGSTREAM in North Georgia
Airstream Forums - Smoky Mountain Vintage RV Rally
Best of luck,
Kevin

Perfect size for traveling. I think you should pass that one along. Let me help you out by taking it off your hands and helping you find one perfect for the hunt club and all your buddies?

You've got a real classic that is worth preserving and restoring. Try not to shoot too may holes in it.

It needs a good cleaning to get last years pollen off of it, sorry for the cell phone pics. I need to take better pics next time it stops raining (70 inches of rain last year in this part of GA), and some of the not so pristine interior. It is a prize though, I bought new door gaskets from vintage trailer supply so I'm on my way to be consumed by the Airstream bug. I need to find out if the rear window was fixed or would open, as the previous owner has a piece of plywood there to hold up some bunks he built to hold the kids. I think it's around 40"x 18".

glad to hear you're catching the bug, as you have found a great bargain on a trailer that WANTS to be rolling down the road, not rotting away the hours on a lonely ole hunting lease ;-) the size/weight ratio of your Caravanner is pretty much perfect for towing and the early trailers were a tad narrower too, which makes them back-up-able into some very tight driveways.... renovate that puppy and hit the road!
