Newbie..wanted to say Hi

I saw this forum when I noticed an Airstram on Craigslist in my area. I missed the airstram (it needed lots of work) but I have decided to lurk here and learn alot so when I can make the plunge I will be an expert.

Just wanted to say this looks like a great forum and I like browsing and looking at the airstreams!

Karen

PS the one I missed was $900 but probably needed an overhaul. Owner posted that everything worked and the trailer did not leak. I was afraid that he was not telling the truth in the ad

Ok kerendee...welcome!!!

What are ya gonna pull the Airstream with?
If ya had it next week, how do you see yourself
using this "dream-machine"?

thanks for the welcome!

We have a 1/2 ton pickup and I drive a Hummer (v8 engine version)
I guess if I get a model too heavy then my hubs has to get a bigger truck.. I am sure he won't mind

I did check the classifieds. I saw a nice model on ebay. It is currently in WI so not too far from me. I just took a job with lesser pay recently so it may be a year before I get my "dream machine".

If I had it next week then I would be out camping somewhere in it, I would not care if the heat did not work!!!

I love to just camp. it is starting to get cold here but I like those fun camp outs. My parents always took us camping. The tent we have gets old for me. I want a bathroom and my own bed and pillow. I hate hotels and can never sleep well.

I was looking at new trailers then when I saw the one on craigslist I fell in LOVE. I have to buy an Airstream now. I even want to restore it!

Also my 2 kids need to have more vacations! We need to start taking them places so they can have the fun I had. With camping they can bring bikes and other stuff to keep busy.

Karen

Wannabe

Karen,

Correction - you're still only a Wannabe.. until you purchase your trailer.. then you'll become the "coveted" Newbie! Good luck... what are your requirements? Length, sleeping arrangements, year, weight, what tow vehicle do you have (that usually depicts what you can get into), condition? Thanks,

Rob

I guess you are right I am still a wanna be...

We have a 1/2 ton pickup and I drive a Hummer (v8 engine version)

As for sleeping. We have 2 boys 10 and 12 years and my hubby and myself. So somewhere for us all to go would be nice.

Thumbs up newbie too

hi karen-we just purchased our first airstream 1981 31 ft excella...we bought it unseen ( i know i know) but it seemed like a good deal and we live far away from a lot of airstreams...we have been in it a few days and are getting organized and working out kinks-thus far our biggest problem has been fitting our truck and hitch-we adore the cozy space and get excited when we see other airstreamers...please keep in touch and good luck
