Newbie to Aluminum Ownership

Hi all, my name is Steve and I bought my wife a 1978 Travelux (I had promised her an Airstream for her 40th birthday...but that took me about 14 years before I happened upon the Travelux since affordable Airstreams are hard to come by in our area).

All that to say we are delighted to have finally gotten a vintage unit but I have to confess that I'm pretty much an RV idiot...we did have a simple circa 2005 hybrid trailer but it was completely different from these older beauties.

I'm looking specifically to understand vintage copper plumbing, how 12 volt electrical actually works (I can't figure out why most of my lights don't work), and very specifically what kinds of 'trim' applications airstream and similar unit owners use to tidy up the seams between the liner and cabinetry for example.

LOTS to learn and happy to begin the process. Having spent a bit of time perusing threads its absolutely wonderful to see such helpful and encouraging commentary in this forum.

Greetings and welcome from Colorado: We were all RV beginners at one time. But vintage Airstream travel trailers are relatively straight forward and pretty easy to learn, especially with these helpful folks on Airstream Forums. I've not heard of the Travelux model name. Maybe it was built for the Canadian market. It would be neat to post a photo of your trailer so I can learn from you. What is the overall length?
