Newbie questions

Friends:

I'm looking to get an Airstream but I don't see any that would fit 4 people. Any ideas about how to go about this? Any recommendations?

Is there anything that I should read for newbies in this realm? (I confess I don't know the difference between a trailer and a motorhome since the ones on the forum header picture look like trailers to me) My current abode is either a tent or an Air Camping tent that installs above the roof rack. The tent is getting crowded as the kids grow and ground tents are not good for 2 weeks travelling to new places every day.

I have a Toyota Landcruiser Turbo Diesel to pull it with.

Welcome! We have a 28 foot 2011 international and it can sleep 5. Two in master bedroom, 2 on pull out bed (couch) and one on dining room table. The only downside is that you'd have to break down and clean up the couch bed and the dining room table bed before you do anything in the morning. But we LOVE ours! It's just my husband and I and our three year old. But we always have guests.

One more thing- check the tow specs on your car first to see what the haul weight limit is and then Add the AS dry weight & weight packet with water, cargo, etc. It's super important your car can safely haul your trailer.

Are there Airstreams with say one bed for us parents and bunk beds for the two kids? Are the bathrooms comfortable or tiny? What about closet space when we are 4?

Thanks for your comments!

Migs, Airstream made a bunkhouse model not too many years back. They are a bit rare. I have been in one but don't remember the particulars. The Florida State Rally is coming up in just a few weeks. Would be a great opportunity to visit and see first hand hundreds of Airstreams of all sizes and layouts. John

Thanks a million folks. If I'm in FL I'll try and visit the Rally. Meanwhile I have downloaded a book from Amazon and am reading it on my Kindle. I'm sure it will answer a ton of questions.

You all are most kind,
