Newbie Looking....

Hi All. My name is Minya (like mine ya). I live in the panhande of Florida right north of Destin. I already see a familiar face here-wahoonc (Aaron) from our pop up camper board (SEPUC). I tool around Florida, most of the time, with just two of my kids-the third and the husband stay home (not much into camping). Last trip out, I popped down about an hour behind schedule and thought how nice it'd be to be able to just lift the jacks and head home!

My parents have a 2000 Excella and I'm inclined to start my search for one now, too. I am looking at the oldies (but goodies) of the 70's. I intend to wait, no matter how long that may be, to find the "right" AS for me. My ideal would be one with twin beds in the mid cabin with a couch up front/bath in rear. That way, I know that the three of us that go all the time will have adequate sleeping quarters. And I don't think I'd like to pull more than anything over 25'. We have a Suburban 1500-so I need to watch the weight of the heavier AS's.

Anyway, that's me-hello! I'm in no rush, as I love my pop up and the whole camping experience. I feel it's just time to start looking.

Welcome aboard, 5G's. There are a couple of members in you area (Shalimar). I've seen a couple of nice vintage models down there. Susan has family in the area, so we visit often. Drive around Shalimar and look under the big pine trees, you'll spot a couple of 'em. The folks here on the forum will help just about anyway they can. You might look thru the classifieds section. There's always something for sale.

Good luck.

Jim
