Newbie Introduction

Glad to be part of the forum. Have never owned a travel trailer but this is what I will get one day. Looking at the Flying Cloud 23FB to travel around the country with my wife upon retirement. This looks like a good place to get information as to upgrades to order and add to my new trailer.

Welcome to the forum! My wife and I followed the same path, and love traveling in our FC 23FB. You’ll find all kinds of advice and opinions (sometimes over the top) here. Your choice is good for just about any type of camping you want to do. My advice is to ease into it, see what you enjoy, and then complete the package. (Generator, etc) Happy camping!

A welcome from Colorado, formally from Minnesota, and before that Iowa. I certainly know where Marion is. A nice "suburb" as it were.

We've been Airstream owners since 2005. We enjoy traveling with the trailer, but don't get out as much as some folks do. We have a "vintage" 1986 Limited 34' that was my wife's folks trailer. They were from Clarion, Iowa. Here is the trailer at Sequoia RV park during our spring trip to the "big trees". This was a very nice RV park on a very bad mountain road.

So you can learn all about Airstreams here. They are an American "icon" in my view. They last a very long time. And they are very well built. They are also quite expensive due to their aluminum shell and other quality features.

I'd suggest also joining which is another good forum for RVing and has a ton of info on towing and tow vehicles. They generally don't talk Airstream, but great info there too. I find both a wealth of information. Join the Towing and Tow Vehicle forum.
