The first and most important project, is to make the trailer waterproof.
Next, prepare a list along with costs, of everything you find wrong with it. That will give you a good starting point to budget your time, and money.
If your not sure, post your questions and/or photos.
Other than body damage, the cost of 2 axles, should you need them, would top the list of costs.

Doc...Have a ball with your new 'project'...as they say, " It's the journey, not the destination...."
We've done lots to our 78, and enjoy it very much...

Welcome to the forum. I've enjoyed purusing and it's been a wealth of information for several years now. By the way, I'm right up the road in beautiful Mount Pleasant, AR. Good luck on the project.

How exciting! Can't wait to see pictures - you're going to have so much fun with your new trailer!!!
We have a 1975 Argosy; I like the fact that someone else put the first (or the 21st!) dent/scratch in it, and all we need to do now is keep it as leak free as possible. We've had a blast fixing it up, and enjoy every minute we can in it.

Arkansas AirStreamers
Hello everyone from Arkansas. We are fairly new, having only been in the forums for a few months now. We hope to pick up our A/S early next week, then comes the fun part, working on it and learning how to handle it behind our truck. The A/S will be our first travel trailer, we've only pulled boats before, so have to learn about any differences between the two (boat and tt). ANyway, welcome aboard!!

Welcome! If it works out you could join us in Branson MO for the Air Midwest Rally April 15-17. There are a lot of different units that have been restored. The open house could be fun for you. If it's not ready the have villas for rent as well.

Hi
There's two more AS owners in Arkansas, because we just got ours, too. We're in Morrilton. Surely we'll meet up somewhere on our travels. We're about to take our trailer (as soon as we figure out a few things, like getting 'er unhitched - see towing and hitch threads) to Lucky B's at Guy. We've been told that's where we need to get her to have brakes, wheel bearings packed, axles checked, etc. Scary though, cause the brakes are screaming, and there's even some squealing and carrying on when we aren't braking. So, hopefully we can get her up there without incident. Just thought I'd mention that Moix RV (which we find to be very good) at Conway uses Lucky B's for running gear work and recommends them highly. As soon as we know we have safe running gear and tires, we're out of here to somewhere warmer so we can camp and work on our baby at the same time!
I'm Carol, or CJ and my husband is Ray. He isn't as dedicated to the forum as I am (yet) so he still uses my handle when he comments. To keep from confusing the friends I've already made on here, he always identifies himself so the forum knows who's talking.
Looking forward to updates on your AS and the work you're doing on it.
We may have to join the club so we can join everyone in Branson at the Midwest Rally. That's familiar stomping grounds for us, and how we wanted to be there the last time they had a rally.
