Newbie Humbled by Airforum Member Knowledge

As a newbie, I offer my sincere thanks to all members for your vast knowledge posted to Airforums that helped my wife and I walk the path to Airstream ownership. We recently picked up our 2019 FC 25RBQ named the "Silver Sanctuary" - Let the "glamping" begin!

I started reading the Airforums as a "Guest" about 6 months ago to get a better feel for Airstream TT and AI benefits, trade-offs, issues and challenges. I read hundreds of threads and posts. The posted information helped my us decide a trailer is a better choice for us than a Class B.

Further, your posts helped us with size, features, compatibility with and modifications to our tow vehicle, accessories/add-on's, negotiating strategies, PDI checklists, etc. The wisdom and experience of you Airforums members was invaluable to us - much appreciated.

Further, a shout out to those with experience and strong opinions on tow vehicles. As a result of your postings, I drove from San Diego, CA to CanAm in London, Ontario to have our 2015 MBenz GL350 Bluetec diesel hitch receiver, hitch head and hybrid WDH modified by Andy Thomson - the enhancements have really helped my confidence towing our rig. Also, I took the opportunity of my cross-country trip to visit the Jackson Center AS manufacturing center - watching TT's & AI's go together really helped me understand the the complexity of our aluminum palaces.

I'll post to other threads on my (warranty) issues: water in clearance lights and squeaky floor around the rear bedroom. I'll also hit up the Solar Sub-Forum on suggestions to add an additional 120W portable unit via the A-frame solar port to the 180W Zamp solar panels/controller I already have on the trailer - it's always something; Thanks again!

Welcome from Colorado and welcome to the Airstream owner's community. Congratulations on your new Flying Cloud 25. It is a perfect size in my view.

I too have found these Airstream Forums very helpful through the years. And I really appreciate the pleasantness and courtesy expressed by users in their posts. There is never a question too silly. All users are treated with respect in my view. It is a very good site.

I had some repair work done on my trailer years ago at Jackson Center. They are now building a huge new factory there. I hope to return some day for another tour. Visiting Jackson Center earns you an Airstream merit badge.

Here is a photo of my 1975 Overlander 27'. I would have prefered a Trade Wind 25' but I was too impatient for a project trailer. What's 2 feet among friends? I enjoy renovating these old guys for another 40 years of travel fun. Your new Airstream will last a very long time indeed. I find the new ones much better built than my Overlander was.
