Newbie from Florida

Hello to all. Havenít bought an air stream yet but actively looking at different models. (Have two rentals scheduled)
The starting goal is out west travel and fly fishing for two retirees. Looking at different options with 23 as the biggest. I was looking at vans but boss told me I was wrong. But an airstream is acceptable. Almost bought an old Argosy MH, but it had too many underlying issues.

Last time we did out west was in the 80ís with an old pop up and Grand Wagglin ear. Tow vehicle is an 18 F150 4x4 with 3.5. I usually tow a 3k boat so moving on up and reading everything on WDH posted here.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

First off, welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

As to your wants and needs, go to a dealer and sit in some of the various models. This will give you a real feel for what it will be like traveling in that model.

Also, you need to be aware of the various water and waste tank sizes and how these will impact your camping style. For instance, we had a 23FB and went back to a 25FB primarily because the black tank was too small for our style of Airstreaming.

Choose wisely.

Welcome aboard.

I agree with Brian's suggestion about visiting a dealership and sit in several different models and imagine going thru your normal daily routines. Things like getting dressed (for outside activities as well). Cooking, cleaning, etc. Don't rush it. There will times when you will need to be indoor for hours, like when there is bad weather. Doing that exercise will help you determine if 23' is the right size for you.

And remember there are many, many AS owners who have come to value how much difference two feet makes on the inside of an AS.

All the best in your search.

Welcome from Colorado: We are "out west" where the trout fly fishing is pretty good. So is the skiing in the winter months (Nov till May). But there are so many beautiful parts of our great country to explore, including Florida.

I believe these forums will assist you in your search for the right trailer.
