Hi! We recently purchased our 1st airstream (finally). Something I have wanted for many years. I can still remember visiting a park in the late 70's and seeing that beautiful "silver bullet ". Well, we didn't end up with one of those, but it is still an Airstream. It's a 1993 b190 van. So far it seems to be working out pretty good. We still need to do some repairs and add a few things. And we definately still have a lot to learn. We haven't taken a major trip in the van yet. Just a weekend at a state park in IL and another in our home state of IN. No major issues, our biggest problems seem to be lack of experience hooking up, etc.. Maybe some day we will even use the stove and water heater. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Howdy and welcome to Airforums.com, peggyb! You have found THE place to ask any and all Airstream questions.

Congratulations on your new-to-you B190! I'm sure with time your knowledge and confidence in operating everything in it will grow.

Might I suggest that, assuming you have an Owner's Manual, you practise on things like the water heater and cook-top while you are at home, where there's no stress and lots of time to go over things step by step, with the book out?

Just s thought... Oh, and how about some photos? We loooove photos.

We do have a few manuals and we have been reading up. I think our biggest problem is my husband. He has never liked using propane. Perhaps in time he will loosen up a bit and let me use more than the microwave and fridge.

Give your husband some time.

The Van will grow on him.

You know, when he was a young kid, he didn't like girls, either.

NOW, look at him.

Andy

Welcome to the Forum

Propane, without any hookups, allows me to take a hot shower, keep warm at night, cook and warm food up and drink cold beer. Whats not to like? How common are propane explosions in rv's?
