Newbie 1970 Overlander

Hello to all.

My husband and I just purchased a 1970 Overlander. We kind of happened upon it for sale and thought we could create great family memories. I would love to overhaul it like you see on the TV, however my husband just wants to get it weather tight and ready to use. I see his point. We need to replace a roof vent cover, a wing window and the side window by the door. I have ripped out the carpeting and found a small amount of floor damage, windows really need fixing! It seems slow going and I feel a little over whelmed where to begin. I would love to see photos of remodeled and renovated riggs (not like I need more ideas to spend money.) and any tips that people have to share would be great since this is my first travel trailer and I don't know which end to diaper so to speak! I look forward to all the great information this site has.
Sincerely,
L&R
Here is a photo of our project.

Welcome!

Hi L&R, Your Airstream looks like it's in good shape. Getting the leaks fixed is the first and sometimes vexing thing to do first. If you look at the top left and click on the forums tab it will take you to the how to section. There is also a section just for your Overlander. HERE is another web site that has restoration links, how to section and a photo archive. Good luck

Just an update... I am hoping that we have cleared the major repairs hurdle and that we are on the backstretch towards an actual camping trip. Here are a few photos of the coach and its current stage.

Nicely done! Is my math correct - less than two months? I am absolutely impressed. The pergo really brings the Overlander together. Now I have to add something else to my ever growing list.

The interior of our A/S

Hi L&R

here is my blog link about an article I've made on the interior of our Airstream '71.
Not ralph Lauren design but only mine with the maximum genuine apparels...
If that can help you ...
