New vintage in smalltown Texas
My husband and I have owned our first A/S for three weeks now.
A 1973 Soverign International 31' rear bath. Found this beauty in
the classifieds. She had been well loved by her previous owners. It
was a sad day for that Lovely Lady when we pulled a portion of her
history out of her driveway--she and her husband had shared many
wonderful times with their A/S. Waiting for the last freeze before
taking anything out for repairs to begin.

Welcome to the forum. Do you have any pictures of your new baby? I know that you will appreciate the previous owner's feeling even more after you have owned this Airstream for a little longer. They are such wonderful pieces of history and will give you years of great memories. Let us know how your restoration goes.

Welcome and Congratulations!
As difficult as it is to see Airstreamers lose their history, one of the powerful attractions of Airstreams is that their durability and design mean they can move from one owner to the next and create new histories... Many of us have acquired Airstreams with history, and are glad to carry the stories of prior owners forward...
Not sure there's ever been a thread here of possible "ghosts" in an Airstream, but I wouldn't be surprised... Hopefully they'd be happy ghosts, and thoughtfully remind us to turn off water pumps and close roof vents when needed...

Hey neighbor. We're just down the road about 40 miles south of Stephenville. If your're ever in the area, give us a "holler." We also have courtesy parking down on the river, should you need it.
We welcome you to Airstreaming and to the Forums. One thing you might want to think about is joining one of units of the Airstream Club also known as the WBCCI or Wally Byam Caravan Club International. We are members of the Texas Highland Lakes Unit which is one of the more progressive units in Texas. We are growing with nine new families as members that I know of in just the last month. We meet somewhere around the area most every month for a rally. We socialize, take meals together, play games, tour, talk about Airstreams and a multitude of other subjects and just generally make and maintain many new genuine friendships. While the club originally centered around the Highland Lakes areas of Austin, Marble Falls and Wimberly we now have numerous members from more northern places like Grandbury, Azel, Hamilton, and Hillsboro. A rally will be held north of Houston in early March and another near Glen Rose in late March. Consider joining us. If you need more information, contact me with a private message through the forum. Just click on my forum name 'GStephens' and then click on "send a private message to GStephens.
Again welcome.

welcome Hantri...Know what you mean with previous owners and history...I'll never forget the tears of the seller as I backed the motorhome out of her driveway...physical problems made it impossible for her to climb into the rv...good luck with your new purchase...joe...

Welcome Neighbor (s)
Now that you have been welcomed by many of your neighbors....let me add mine. Welcome.
Now, I see so many of us spread out over this part of Texas, and New Mexico,....oops, and Oklahoma of course, lets get something going. I have a place here , about two miles from the entrance to Johnson State Park on Lake Ray Roberts and about 15 miles from Lake Texoma, 60 miles north of Ft. Worth. (If you have to reference the location to Dallas you may not want to be involved here.) Lots of things to do, places to stay (I have plenty of room but no hook ups) Lets connect a bit. Also have an Airstream project or two, place to work on 'em and enjoy the company. Come visit...bring a guitar and Nuvite.....beer and BBQ on site.

Hi, hantri,
Another 31! Yea!
Welcome to the forums, you and your's.
Between the motorhomes and the Bambi's, there's not enough of us talking about the big boys. Check out the individual forums for your year and model, too. Plenty of helpful, enthusiastic folks are here.
Get the hubby online, too. Airstream is spoken here.
