New to the forum - retiring soon

I automatically was drawn to the topic of Fulltimer. We will retire in approximately 2 1/2 years. We plan on selling the big house and traveling for a while before we decide what we want to do next. We are interested in workkamping. Any suggestions.

Hello and welcome to the forums from just up the road in Arkansas...your gonna love it here.

I do have some customers that work the National Parks all around the beautiful USA...you might contact a National Park to get you started.

Welcome to the forums!

Oh goodie, retirement! A very good thing in my opinion! We have been retired 5 years and there isn't much better....

If you are considering full timing and working in the parks, etc. You might check out this link. Somewhat interesting. I have never followed up on it, but received updated emails from them regularly. Always looks interesting. Maybe someone else has info on this site... ?

Rivet Welcome to the forums

Back in the ’97 I was camped at Bon Secure Bay, off Mobile Bay in Alabama in my ’67 Trade Wind. (1 photo at http://www.airforums.com/photos/show...871&original=1) I was parked next to a new Avion next to a couple in their ’80s, fulltimers. While I was setting up, the husband came over to me and started conservation. He said that they had recently been is a park in Florida where there were mostly park models and there were organized activities, clubs, etc… he said, “We had to get out of there. That place was full of old folks!”

The point (at last) is that they served as hosts at state campgrounds regularly and camped there free. There is a commitment, but worth checking out.

There seem to be a lot of members from Houston and the Piney Woods. Surely someone closer to you will chime in.
