New to the Forum but previous Airstream owner

Thanks for the adding me to the forum. I owned a 1977 Airstream 27’ back in the early 90’s. We sold it and got into B class vans. Now we want to get back into an Airstream trailer. Wow they have really upgraded everything in the newest models! Looking at the Classic 30 or 33. I tried looking a little bit on the forum but I could not find an answer to the current wait time if I was to order a new one. I’m thinking it’s quite a long wait if it’s like other RV manufacturers. I could contact some dealers also.

Greetings from Colorado: Nice you wanted to sign up to these Airstream Forums. I read here that delivery times are in the 6 to 8 month range. The RV industry is on a record pace, including Airstream. I read they are having trouble getting the parts. The suppliers are overloaded.

I think it is worth the wait for a new Airstream. They are very nice travel trailers. Ours is a 1986 Limited 34 that has been in the family since new. It is still going strong and we are traveling with it as I write this.

Welcome X2 from Colorado! Yes lots of great updates can be found in current model airstreams... pretty LUX these days regardless of the model you choose!

I agreed on the likelihood of a 6-8 month wait. I believe that some larger volume dealers may get higher priority, but could be wrong.

Would recommend on keeping it under 30 foot if you want to use many state and national parks.

First you have to find a dealer with any factory slots available. Then when I placed my order back in February the delivery window was September/October (hopefully).

David,

That’s a nice looking 1986 Limited. I remember when I had that 1977 model I would dream about having one of those 34’ models one day. I probably still have the brochure on those here somewhere.

Looks like I may be waiting a while if I order a new one but I’ll start calling some of higher volume dealers and see what they say. Unless things change it will probably be later than they tell you.

That’s something I’ll keep in mind. We still have our Coachmen Galleria 24T van and it gets us in any campground. I hope to keep it because it’s great just to take day trips in.

It’s just a guess at this point on delivery times for sure. Good luck and I hope you get that one sooner than expected.
