New to the Forum but not to Airstreaming...

Hello, we have lived full time in a 1965 Overlander for 12 years now. She was a gift from my father who had her for 7 years. She sat in Clearwater, FL for 15 years as a rental before he bought her in 1988. It is a miracle that after 15 years as a rental, she was still in perfect shape except for the original fridge died. By the time we got her in 1995 ,she need new glass and a polish job, but was still functional in every way and still had the original Bowan water heater. We put her back on the road and went coast to coast and all around with her until we got here to Coos Bay. We took work as property watchers and are still here after 4 years. I don't doubt that we will be rolling again in the future.I have RV for over 20 years. We named her "Bijou" which in French means "a jeweled treasure". thats what she is. Hope our experience with restoring and traveling with her can help someone.

I just realized all my road shots are on film. I only have a couple in digital form. I will have to have them scanned before I can upload them. So I will have to wait on that. Sorry.

Don't worry, we're a patient group. It took me what felt like forever to figure out how to post pix. Now, I can't stop.

I love your signature. Sounds like "Priscilla Queen of the Desert".That was the name of the RV in the movie. I love movies with RVs in them Like "RV" with Robin Williams. I would kill for that red and white bus! We have some old, barely legible,WBC numbers still faint on the front under the paint. We spent alot of time in the desert, boondocking, and painted the roof white. I often think of sending them to someone who nows how to locate the history of our Bijou via those numbers but have not done it yet. We were in the Vintage Airstream Club about 10 years ago. My husband is an auto/truck painter and I am the Airstream restorer. We've had a LOT of fun in this thing.

Send a message via AIM to Condoluminum
Just post the numbers here and someone will respond with a private messge to you about the history of your numbers and Bijou....

Several members have libraries of old Wally Byam Club directories...
