New to the Airstream world!

My name is Clara and I'm new to the Airstream community. I've always dreamed of owning an airstream and today my fiancé and I made that come true! I don't know the exact model of the one we bought (neither did the owner), but I believe her to be an '80 international ambassador! (Please correct me if I'm way off). It's in rough shape and is going to need a lot of love. But we both enjoy the work and can't wait to get started! With a lot of hard work, attention, and little luck we hope to restore Luna (her name) to her glory days!

International refers to the trim line. Ambassador is the model. But I have never seen an Ambassador that is not International, which has more bells and whistles. The other trim lines are Land Yacht and Standard. I also have never seen a standard. Over the years Airstream used the trim line and model names pretty loosely.

That makes sense! Thank you!

Howdy!

Welcome aboard the Silver Madness... known as Airstream...

When you post a message or a reply, in the normal or advanced mode, you will have the "Additional Options" section about a 1/4 page below the 'Message' text box.. Choose 'Attach Files'...

then "Manage Attachments" then, select individual files to upload...

click 'Upload'... below the file selection area you will see your filenames listed once uploaded.

AFTER the upload completes as mentioned above, select 'close this window' in top right.

The pictures/attachments filenames should be viewable beneath the message text box..

Complete your text then submit.

Definitely post pics and welcome to Airstreaming. It's so much cooler than you can imagine. Go to a few rallies (when you're ready), soak in the knowledge of generous contributors here, and hit the road as much as possible to the kinds of destinations you love whether they're boondocking, parking at friend's places, or RV parks.

I am very recently back myself after an eight year hiatus (far too long!).

Welcome to the family, we are glad you're here!

Regarding iPhone pictures, for some reason the Forum software always posts them sideways. Best way to fix it is to "resize" the pictures on your Mac or PC and upload those. Somehow, re-sizing the picture makes it post right-side up.

Regarding photos, we would love to see as many before, during and after photos as you can stand to post. Folks will line up to cheer you on with every success, and offer sage (and not-so-sage) advice if things get rough. You are taking on a big project, but with enough energy, love and stick-to-it power, you'll have an amazing Airstream when you are done. There are plenty of threads here from folks who have taken on and successfully completed similar challenges, with wonderful results. Can't wait to join in celebrating each success along the way.

Welcome to Alumaholics Anonymous! You are embarking on a great journey, but you need not do it all alone. See www.wbcci.org for a great group of people near you, some of whom have a very similar rig as yours, who will be happy to answer questions! Great times, great trips, great food with the best friends you have not met yet in the Airstream Owners Club!
