new (to me) airstream motor home

I was not planning to get a motor home. For several years I have had (and still have) a very compact and efficient r.v., a 1989 Vixen which gets 20 mpg.

Then it happened...by house ( a small cabin in the woods) burned down and I
was left without a roof over my head, and then I saw this Land yacht for sale..and the thoughts of re-building that be-loved cabin were so distant, I decided to opt for a motor home large enough to live in full time, not just on weekends or short journeys.

I had been planning to celebrate my birthday at Medicine Lake in July where there is an airstream rally this weekend. but those plans and many others i had for my life have been turned topsy turvy now.

Looking forward to learning more from experienced airstream owners as time goes on. My r.v. is still in the shop, and will need some fixing before
hitting the road. I hope to park it near my (former) house site, but the
entire area is so devastated....over 53,000 acres are scorched.

My first projects will be to replace the stove top burners with an oven
and range and also to replace the microwave oven.

life goes on...

Laurel

Welcome Laurel, Airstreaming gets in your blood, the people and aluminum are infectious, I am so sorry to hear about your home, I cannot even imagine what that is like, please keep posting and checking in. My fiance' and I have a '58 Caravanner that my dad gave me, and we just bought a '68 Overlander that we hope to Rally in very soon. Good luck to you!

thanks for the welcome to the community here. the land yacht is not silver aluminum
(the body is fiberglas?) but it is an airstream!

looking forward to future interactions here.
