Wife and I are finally retired. Just picked up our “would be” kids inheritance ( 22’ Caravel with 24’ Interstate “tow vehicle” ) in Vegas and easily cruised the 1600 miles back home to Galveston. I-40 managed to shake the bugs out. Proud owners ready to see this great country of ours.

Welcome and congratulations! Interesting combination...we look at the Interstate and "wonder" about towing a smaller AS. Interested to hear your feedback. Seems a bit redundant towing a 22' but nice for the wife snoozing or not having to stop for potty breaks while traveling, so some advantages for sure. Be interested to hear experiences plus/minus from your adventures...anyone else have this type set up?

Congratulations on your Airstream interest. Spring is just around the corner, so consider making State Park reservations. You’re in a good location to cut through to bypass Houston and hit the parks. We lived in Friendswood for thirty years on Clear Creek, sometimes on the creek and sometimes in the creek during the early eighty’s floods. Take care and have fun.

Welcome to the forum. It appears as though you have the best of both worlds in your TV and trailer.

All the best!

There ain't nothing like bouncing down I-40. Here's another vote for the Texas State Parks. Try to take the two lane roads instead of the freeways if you can and enjoy your retirement!

Hopefully we’re a little further away from CC than you guys were. Got close to us (in Friendswood) during Harvey but no water. Got my son in West Ranch. Thanks for the post.
