New to Airstream - North Texas

Hi, we are Sam & Mary Beth in McKinney, TX. We are settling in to our 2024 Globetrotter 25FBT. This unit came from Airstream of Austin, pre-owned in North Carolina for less than one year, so it is still pretty fresh It has the Natural Elm with Grey Hitch interior. Options are second A/C and additional solar (I think). We've been out two times for a couple nights to TX State Parks to get accustomed to it. We're former diesel coach owners, but came to AS looking for a simpler experience. Really like the forums here and I see a lot of info that is relevant to us, so .. glad to be here!

I, and many others, have learned so much from the forum and have made many friends. I would encourage you to join the Airstream Club (www.airstreamclub.org). There are many Texas units that would be glad to have you as a member.

Welcome from Colorado. You found a very nice Airstream travel trailer and I believe will give you years of enjoyable travel adventures. There is (was) an exclusive Airstream park in Zavalla, Texas. It is one of those places where folks buy the "lot" where you can park your trailer for an extended stay. Like all winter for folks from the north. The Globetrotter model name goes back maybe 65 years as the Airstream founder, Wally Byam, liked long caravans, including South America, Africa, and Europe. They even organized a "around the world" caravan. A caravan is a pre-arranged travel trip that Airstream Club members can sign up for. Join the Airstream Club and learn all about them.

Here is a photo of my 1969 Globetrotter 19'. Your Globetrotter is much, much better. But mine is much, much older. Airstream travel trailers last a long, long time.
