New Seattle member

My name is Dan. We live in Seattle and are new to the list but not RV'ing. We have a 13 foot Boler trailer that has served us well. However, it's time for a trailer that I can actually stand up in and have a bathroom and shower. Amazing how being over 40 changes things!

We are set (?) on a Argosy 6.0 Minuet if we can find one. We like the size, features and lower towing weight. Anyone have any leads?

Thanks,

Dan

Hello and welcome - we can always use another Argosy fan!

These little trailers sell really quicky - be prepared to jump when you find one. And.... even though they are tiny - a minuet will seem like a palace after a 13 footer.

Consider looking at Caravels as well - also small and even lighter!

Welcome Dan! We found our 18' trailer last year watching the local papers, the classifieds on this site, airstream.com, airstream.net, ebay and craigslist. After two months of searching, we found our trailer in Portland on craigslist.

Good luck on your search for finding a short trailer!

Ryan.

Argosy trailers

Dan, Welcome to the forums! Glad you joined us. Please feel free to ask anything and we here will try to give you the answers you seek. Just how far are you willing to travel in your search for an Argosy? I have knowledge (as of today) of two Argosy trailers in a local storage yard that I've been watching for 3 years. They haven't left the yard at all during this time frame and tomorrow I am going to see if I can get contact info on the owners. One is a 24 foot and I am not sure about the other yet as it has no obvious markings on the outside as to size. the first one says Argosy 24 near the curbside door. I will be coping serial plate numbers so we can ID size and interior layout. Let me know if you want more info on these trailers. Ed

Welcome Dan.

We were towing a 17' Boler but had lusted after the "right" Airstream for years. We finally decided to bite the bullet big time and sold the Boler with the intent that we would not buy another trailer until we got our Airstream. It was scary as we've always had a trailer or camping unit of one type or another, but we figured we had to get motivated. We sold the Boler in October and found the Airstream in December. Whew!!! And it was the trailer of our dreams, needing work but nothing huge so with 4 months of effort we were ready to go. It's a 51 and we really wanted a 57 but it has turned out perfect.

Keep your eye on the Seattle Craig's list. It's surprising how frequently Airstreams show up there and for reasonable prices. Make sure you get a good one, first appearances can be deceiving so check it out completely.

Gotair,

I do like your trailer. Any neutral 3rd parties out there want to inspect the trailer for me and report back?

Safari57,

Maybe I should sell the Boler now to speed up the purchase. However, I want to camp soon this Spring and do not want to be without a home. I'm "Jonesing" to hit the Washington Coast and stay in a warm trailer with a shower and toilet....If I can pull this off my wife would be beside herself. She loves camping but hates public toilets and no shower.

Anyone want a Boler?
Dan

Timing was great for our sale and subsequent purchase. It still left us sufficient time to get the Airstream done and ready just in time for camping.

You shouldn't have any problems selling your Boler when you are ready. Given the timing of the camping season you may want to hold onto it until you do have your replacement sitting at home and fully approved by your wife to ensure it passes muster.
