New SC Airstreamer

Hello to all. I recently purchased 1980 31' Excella. I have redone the floors and changed the twin beds in the back to a new queen bed. I am hoping to take our maiden voyage in a couple of weeks. Over the last month, I have not seen any airstreams on the road. I also drove through a large camping site and still saw no airstreams. What's up with that? We recently applied to a local unit of the WBCCI. How long does it take to get a response back?

Welcome from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

We are on the road with our Airstream extensively (50,000 miles in 3 years) all over the country. Sometimes we will go for several days with out seeing another Airstream on the road or in a campground. Then, at other times, we will see 5 or 6 in one day. Go figure.

On the WBCCI issue, some local units are not not good at getting back to people. If you don't hear back pretty quickly, Call the National Office in Jackson Center, Ohio. Go to WBCCI.org. If you are not particularly interested in participating locally, consider joining the Washingto, DC Unit or the Four corners Unit in New Mexico. We belong to the latter even though we live in Florida as we are not congregators.

Welcome to the forums! I agree with the rest, its feast or famine with seeing other AS.

I hope your WBCCI plans work out. We joined the only unit in Arkansas by default. We are the youngest by at least 20 years, but they are great folks. We make the few rallies every year. We attend what we like, and do our own thing when we want, and everyone is happy. Happy Travels!

Hey scarecrow,

Always good to see another Palmetto State forum member. The WBCCI South Carolina Coastal unit is having a rally at Santee State Park the weekend of September 11-13. We're not members of the unit, but they are some mighty fine foks.

South Carolina State Parks

Welcome,

Kevin
