New owner in WA state!

Hello!
My name is Erin, and I just bought a 1972 Land Yacht Tradewind for $1500. I'm parking it in a friend's backyard/driveway and plan to live in it while I finish undergrad school - and maybe beyond!

As you might imagine from the low price, she needs a LOT of TLC. I plan to start with an intense, thorough cleaning and then concentrate on making her liveable before I start any remodels.

I expect to have lots of questions about towing, leveling, electric wiring and exterior repair, and living "aboard" without traveling. In fact, I'm going to poke around the forums right now.

Thanks!

Welcome Erin,

Glad to have you with us. Poke around all you want and feel free to ask questions as needed.

Kevin

Erin,
Welcome to the AS forums. You have joined a very special team. The AS Forums are full of fantastic information. I also live in WA ST (west side). In Lacey, WA there is an AS harbor where over 100 ASers live and their AS trailers are stored. There are a number of ASers there who can help make your AS livable and safe. jjustice

Yea, welcome Erin:
I'm up in the Bellingham area and in and out of Seattle. Got a nephew who goes to school at Evergreen near Olympia.
I live in my trailer most of the time so I can escape the Web and concentrate on music and writing (in a barn) so it's do-able and cost effective/cozy as well.
Internet a Wood's Cafe couple miles down the road.
Best of luck.

Welcome! There are lots of Airstream owners in the northwest, and we occasionally get together for rallies - gather around the campfire, stuff ourselves with potluck, and play music until the wee hours of the morning. That alone makes having an AS worthwhile!

Thanks, folks!

Del, I'm at Evergreen, too, actually. One of those "non-traditional" students (I'm 35).

Stephanie, I won't be mobile for a while - gotta save up to buy a truck next! Most likely an old diesel pickup that I can convert to biofuel...
But I'll look forward to rallies eventually!
