New owner in Kansas

Hi all,

After years & years of browsing, researching & dreaming, I signed the papers for my very first RV yesterday - a 2004 Airstream Interstate!

I'll fly down to Florida to pick it up Aug 16th. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. Definitely not sleeping - read an online manual most of the night last night. Looking into insurance for my new baby today. I'm open to any & all advice.

Maiden voyage will be 1300-1700 miles depending on how confident I feel with it.

I've been browsing thru this forum - ALOT! And have picked up lots of good info. So happy to finally become an owner - a long-term dream finally coming true.

Looking forward to learning & sharing more as this new adventure begins.

Catherine

Did you have someone down there check it out before you bought it? We are in the process of starting to look for a trailer (25 something or other) and it concerns me buying something 1000 miles away. I think I would have to fly out to see it first, or if it was not too far away just take the truck and hope it is suitable.
Enjoy your new baby,
Stan

Greetings Catherine from just down the road in Olathe! It would be a great idea to have your new acquisition checked out for safety (brakes, wheel bearings, hitch integrity, etc.) before you start that trip home. (Don't ask how I know). What an exciting time for you and we all look forward to seeing your new "friend".
Drew is right, there are several of us here in the KC area who are willing to help whenever we can.
Good luck and we look forward to hearing about your trip!

Ken
