Smile New (old) Argosy Owners

Just bought a 1977 Argosy 26. Its in reasonable condition but looking forward to fixing it up and making it our own! Will appreciate any tips and advice, including where we can get an owners manual and a service manual.

If you want an original owner's manual, they are offered with some frequency on E-Bay -- usual price is $50.00+/-. I believe that photo copied manuals are available from Secretarial Services just as are similar Airstream manuals as follows:

You can get photocopies of owners manual (1964+) and service manuals (1972-1986) from:

Helen Davis Secretarial Services
PO Box 484 Sidney, OH 45365
(937)492-8885

Prices are about $33 and $70 respectively. After 1986 the Owners Manuals included available service information.
(Above quoted from the Vintage Airstream Club website)

I don't believe that there was a specific service manual for the Argosy trailers. The service manual for similar model year Airstreams would provide valuable service information as the coaches are quite similar from a structural standpoint.

Good luck with your Argosy!

Kevin

you will have to9 use the owners manual for an Airstream. The Argosy is built very much like the Airstream of that year. Kevin is wright about where to get it from. I have one and it has been a real help

Congratulations on what looks like a great find. We love our Argosy, and although we now have a much bigger Airstream, we cannot bear to part with the Argosy. They are great trailers. If I can help you, please let me know. I don't think there will be anything you need that Forum members can't help you with. Give us more pictures when you can. What does the inside look like?

We got a 77 service manual by calling the Airstream factory store. It might be worth a call.

The factory has a fairly decent Argosy collection in its archives, including manuals and even some of the original marketing photographs.
