New Members in Central Oregon

Just a quick hi to introduce my wife and I to the forum as new owners of a 16' CCD bambi. We are scheduled to pick her up in Eugene on Wednesday and will be towing her back to Bend with our 2006 Honda Ridgeline. The purchase was somewhat impulsive. We went to Eugene looking at a Trailermanor, but made the ridiculous decision to step into an AS while we were there. "That's one small step for my wife, one giant leap for our wallet."

We're quite excited about the purchase. My wife is planning on taking three day weekends for most of the summer (along with our 8 yr old daughter, 13 yr old Border Collie, and 12 wk old Australian Shepard), so we hope to have the AS camped out all over Oregon this summer, mostly at more primitive sites. So we'll be drycamping with her a lot.

Originally we were looking at the Trailermanor so that it could be parked in the garage (no RV's allowed parked outside for more than 48 hours in our neighborhood). That's not possible with the AS now, so we still have some figuring out to do (and likely more money to spend) trying to find nearby RV storage.

We will be using this forum greatly for advice on using our AS, outfitting it, maintaining it, and finding great camp sites all over the PAC NW.

Hugh & Debbie, welcome and congrats on your impulse buy! There is a very active group of Airstreamers in the Northwest area - check out the rally calendar for info on the rally at Beverly Beach in September.

Happy travels!

We bought ours from the same dealer, Sutton RV. They do a great job of walking you through the systems. A great park is Harris Beach State Park on the coast at Brookings down by the CA. border. Ask for a back-in, sites B2,B4,B6 or B8.
