New members from UK

Hello, we live in Dorset in the UK and have recently taken delivery of a 1979 25ft Tradewind and are starting a complete renovation. The chassis is sorted but apart from that we will gut the whole inside....never done anything like this before so delighted to find this community...thanks

Welcome onboard, there are quite a few of us over here....over 100 members in WBCCI Europe, several rallies in UK and even a caravan this year between two of the rallies.

Welcome from Colorado, USA. We just met a new member from Australia a few days ago. I enjoy meeting folks from around the world.

I love the Trade Wind 25'. I wonder if 79 was maybe the last year of that model name, I don't know. I do know I owned a 66 Trade Wind 24' which I renovated and made comfortable, reliable, and a bit nicer. It was a twin bed layout. Here are a couple photos.

I traded it for a 75 Overlander 27'. It is of the newer body style and looks more like a modern Airstream instead of an oldie. I also renovated that trailer and will be going to a vintage Airstream rally the first week in June.

Find the Airstream Knowledgebase, Airstream trailers toward the very bottom of the Forums page. Then select Tradewind, and select your model year. Now stay up all night to read and learn what others have done with their Tradewinds. The 1975 to 1980 model years were similar design and applicable to your 1979. (It was two words in in the 1960s, and one word in the 1970s. Marketing I guess.

Hope to see you around the Forums.

David

Hi All. I’m really an old / new member. Signed up years back then I bought a ‘64 Globetrotter sight unseen from Colorado and had it shipped to UK. Big plans didn’t get finished, so sold it on. Last year jumped back and bought a 10yo International and spent three months circumnavigating UK coastline. Awesome holiday, but only bumped into one other Airstream en-route. Hoping to link up with some UK rallies during 2022….fingers crossed that’ll happen.

Look forward to following your progress. How about posting some photos

I am curious about the changes you have to make to pass MOT.
