New Members: 1979 Airstream Argosy Shell Off Renovation

Hey y'all 👋 We're thrilled to be part of the Airstream Family!

I wanted to share our recent overhaul of this 1979 Airstream Argosy. When we bought it, it was a gutted shell...we proceeded to remove the entire shell from the frame and turn it into an off-grid, self sustainable home on wheels.

OFF GRID FEATURES: The Airstream has been lifted 4 additional inches off the ground for easy access to remote campsites. We installed an LED-UV Ray water filtration system for clean water no matter our location. Cell boosters and wifi extenders have been mounted on the roof for maximum connectivity.

GREEN & SUSTAINABLE FEATURES: The Airstream’s roof holds 640 watts of solar power. It also includes a 500ah lithium battery system. The Airstream uses a composting toilet - this extends the time off-grid and eliminates the need for toxic black-water chemicals.

You can see the in-depth renovation details here if you want

Welcome from Colorado: That's quite an Argosy you built. Folks in Colorado appreciate the extra ground clearance. And there is a lot of boon docking done in the high country. Enjoy your new Argosy.

Can you provide more information on the water purification system?

I have watched your reno Videos as well for tips on my '76 28ft Argosy Reno. Congrats on the trailer and the new baby. Do you ever head to Canada?

Welcome! Loved following your rebuild, I was the one suggesting not to drill holes on roof for solar...
