New Member - Welcome All

New to this forum but not new to camping or RV'ing. Started in tents. One trip involved a 14 week coast to coast ramble, living in a tent every night. Lot's of stories and memories from that. Many years followed with other tents, pop-ups and now a 17' Casita SD. We like the Casita, it's a good rig, but we want little more space and are looking for something a bit nicer - so here I am.

Presently looking at some new/used Air Streams in the 19 - 22 foot size. Hoping to tow with my 2018 Silverado Extended Cab 1500 4WD if it will do the trick. Will have many questions and I know that this community will be a great help.

If my experience can help others, I'm also ready to share.

Best, Ed

Hi Ed, greetings from Kentucky and welcome to the forum. I wish you the best of luck in your search and in your travels. As far as towing with your 1500, that should be fine in the sizes you're considering. I pull our 23' 2006 with a 2004 4Runner with V8. It does just fine.

Welcome Ed to the Airstream Community and Forums!

Sounds like you have a good idea of what Airstream models that would work for you. I'll toss out one other to consider - a 23' model because it's the smallest twin axle and has a lighter tongue weight than the smaller ones. Our first Airstream was a 2018 FC23FB Queen which we towed with a VW Touareg TDI. It was a great combination and your 1500 would handle it fine.

Good luck with your search.
-Jeff

Hello from Colorado: Welcome to these forums. You can learn all about the models and people's experiences with them, both good and not so good. Traveling with the comfort of an Airstream behind you is a real pleasure.

Ed,
Welcome to the A-S world.
Check the door sticker on your tow vehicle before buying a trailer, unless you are looking for an excuse to buy a new truck. Allow for a surprising amount of "stuff", unless your wife is different from mine. Our half ton does fine with a 23FB.
After two SOB's, we decided we were done with the maintenance and wind-drag penance. I think you'll be happy in an Airstream.
Happy camping!
