New member.... Soon new owner

Hello everyone, I just sold my 38' class A. Motorhome and my wife and I have been looking at Airstream trailers for quite some time.
I live in Montreal Canada and I will tell you that the selection is not all that great.
Prices for a new AS are very high because of the weakness of the Canadian $.
We have to pay between 30-40% more... Yes correct..ex a 25' International cost $110,000.
So I have decided to join and start shopping for a used Airstream. The problem that I have encountered is the difficulty in getting a reply from my messages to owners. The " system" will not let me send a personal msg because I am not a trusted member.!
So question: how do I get owners to respond to my questions ? What if they do not give a tel # I am in sales and if I want to sell something...I must Make myself available . I am a serious buyer and am looking at the moment at a 28' International in Richmond Hill Ga. Owner's name is Carter. Can someone help contact this owner,,,? If he is not interested, can you please tell him to remove his ad..

Hi Bob, welcome to the forum, always nice to have new people. We looked for several months for our AS. We looked in several places but the Airforums listings is where we found ours.

If people didn't leave a phone number they are impossible to contact by email and by the time they would respond the trailer is usually sold. It's best to call but if you have only an email, use it to tell them you want to come see it and to send you a phone number.

We called on the first day of the posting and when we went to see the trailer we were told they had 3 other callers after ours, that same day from as far away as California.

Good luck in your search.

Thank you Rich,

You are correct, I have concluded by now that if I cannot get a response from the owner, it is probably sold. I will continue to look...

Enjoy your AS.
Regards. Bob

I recently sold an AS on the forum & I provided a phone # but everyone emailed me. Even when I provided my # again in the email response & said feel free to call with any questions only 2 out of 10 prospects did & those were folks not really interested that wanted a $10K reduction. The couple that bought our TV was local to our area & they emailed & texted rather than call every time. I just don't get it because we'd call & discuss detail if we were going to buy but I think that is must be the way things are done now.

Hi Jane, I just e mailed the seller again... But I am not sure that he receives my e mails. They are sent through the system.
The one that We are interested is the International 28' in New Richmond GA. I asked him if it is still available .. This s my third attempt . Hopefully, he will respond.
I am prepared to drive down from Canada and pick it up. We need to be in HP North Carolina in October. So the timing is good for me... If I can he a hold of the seller.

Thanks

Bob

I will say I never knew for sure when I responded through the system if the buyer actually got my response. I wonder if that is part of the problem. You could send them a private message.
