Dear Members, I am thrilled to join your community. I run hot dog stands in California, and it is my dream to have a Bambi converted to serve our delicious dogs. Please help me find a Bambi that has been converted for food service use, or is ripe for conversion. Also let me know about folks who might do this work. Visit our site at Let's Be Frank Dogs or visit our carts in San Francisco or Los Angeles
Best, Larry

Welcome. But I have trepidations, so let me be brutally frank–I fear the wurst is yet to come!

I looked at a 22 foot, 1955 Flying Cloud, in northwest Denver that had already been converted with a long serving window cut in on the curb side. I was looking for an Airstream that needed work but was unwilling to try and find all of the windows needed to put back this unit back into camping service. I can look and see if it is still parked there and get a contact number if you are interested.

Welcome to forum Larry, glad to have you aboard! Unfortunatly the type and size of AS you are looking for are very pricey in todays market. You won't be the first to convert an AS into something other than what it was designed for and it is a very cool way to sell your products. You going to have to sell a ton of hot dogs to cover the conversion costs. Google around and see what you come up with. Yes, Andy will probably get his claws into you but buyer beware. Good luck with your project and keep us all posted!

Ther is a guy who had converted his Bambi into a complete stainless steel commercial kitchen. I can't remember the dude's name right off but he has made it look like a taoster with two pieces of toast popping up from the top. I heard that Andy helped with some repair issues with it a while back.

I'd suggest looking for one that is already gutted or trashed on the inside since you'll be gutting it anyways.
