Exclamation Long time reader ,first time owner PLEASE READ

Hello All,

After 2 years of searching I finally found a trailer that I can call my own. Just yesterday I had my 1971 22' Trade Wind Land Yacht delivered to my house by the out of state seller that I had puchased it from.

At 21 years of age, us young guns can get quite ....... well how should i put this????? IMPATIENT! When it comes to getting what we want and we often settle for the first thing we can get our hands on, resulting in a poor decision and poor use of money.

I am proud to say that because of everyone here I feel that I had the general knowledge of what to look for when I started my search for an AS. I cant thank you enough and look forward to sharing the process of the rebuild with you, as I know you will welcome me with open minds and honest opinions just like you have done with others in the past.

Again , Thank You!!!!

Spencer from Mid-Michigan

Welcome Spencer, and good luck with your new Airstream. Post some pictures and we can all get a look at her. Hope to see you at a rally some day soon.

Congrats! Post some pictures so we can see just how pretty she is. What is your tow vehicle? Good luck and don't hesitate to ask any questions- someone will know the answer. Happy streaming!

Howdy, and welcome (although you imply that you have been lurking here for a while).

Speaking of impatient, where are the pics of your new purchase!?!? We like pictures. If you want to read a how-to, please look at this thread: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f138...eds-31829.html

There is lots of help too.

Good luck and have fun. See you on the road!

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the family! I know what you mean about impatience! We bought our 70 Overlander on E Bay (and YES it was a positive experience) and waited 6 to 8 weeks for spring to come and make the journey to South Bend, In to pick her up. It's worth the wait!

Hello. We are new to "Airstreaming". We have aquired an 1982 Excella 31'. We are still going through it and checking on what works and what doesn't. I had to do some electrical work on it so far, but that's it. I am afraid at this point to check the gas, I don't know how long it's been since any of the LP has been fired up. Any suggestions?

We are in Charleston, SC...

I have had my 1982 Excella 27ft. about a year now. I just replaced the propane regulator and the flex hose from the regulator bottom to the 5/8 copper line. I made a new 3/8 flex hose (must be rubber). Inland RV said 3/8 was plenty big enough to do the job. The regulators tend to go bad from moisture condensation from the long 30 inch regulator to tank hoses and the fact that the regulator is mounted at the bottom of the tanks. My furnance would fail to lite some times before the regulator change and the stove eyes burned very low flame. Also make sure the oven is turned to pilot off position not just oven off before you turn the gas on. Also install a gas and carbon monoxcide detector you can get one at Lowes.
