New Member PA Wants First Airstream!

Hello, I'm not too computer savvy so you'll all have to bear with me. I live in Lancaster Co, PA and recently decided to follow a dream of living at a fun campground year round in an Airstream. I've loved these RV's all my life as my cousins' families always had one and it reminds me of all of us camping together as little kids. Homeownership has become so stressful to me and when posed with the question of "why not just sell the house and rent a place" I cringed at the idea of living in someone else's home. Then the idea hit me to live in a camper like my mom did for a few years. Since I also so wanted to purge my life of so many material goods, it seemed like the right move. And then I decided, while how about not just any RV, how about living in an Airstream? I've been so excited about the idea I bouncing on air! I feel totally comfortable selling my home (which I do love) to live in Airstream, with tons less stuff, and activities to do all summer long at the campground (and a pool to boot!) So, now I start my search to find my Airstream "beginner" home! Wish me luck and give me lots of advice my fellow Airstreamers!

Hi We are just like you, we are too new to be scared. My husband is in construction and knows how to do pretty much everything. We bought an older airstream 1974 that's old, it takes a lot of work and probably even more than we realize. But the people on this forum are very helpful, and all We have done is read the posts, whenever we are "stuck" My only advice is make sure you have access to a lot of friends willing to help with repairs. Or buy a brand spanking new airstream and drive that sucker off the lot!
