New member/New Owners

Greetings!

After being avid boaters/sailors for many, many years, we have taken a fork in the road - sold our boat, and have just taken delivery on a 2018 International Serenity 23FB (Salsa decor). We are tickled pink!

Although our Tacoma (3rd gen V6) towed this new beauty approximately 300 miles to our home, it was not without complaining, particularly on uphill climbs, but that is all for another day. We did take a night in the dealer lot and two more nights camping on the way home to get better acquainted with our Airstream.

Although we are at the start of the learning curve we think there is some similarity to the boating world, and since we were tent campers in another lifetime, it will be fun to get back into camping, albeit at an entirely different level. We are looking forward to learning all we can from this forum and contributing when we can.

Yes, we have a small technical issue already (with the Clarion stereo), but I'll look for a more appropriate sub-forum to post.

Happy to be aboard.

Pop (and Mimm's)

CONGRATULATIONS!!! We are very excited for you and all of your new adventures ahead. We have a 28" International, and I tow it with a Toyota Tundra. Very happy with both pieces of equipment. Please holler if you have any questions whatsoever, and most everyone here is glad to help. Safe travels, Mike

Hello from high and dry Colorado. Not many boats in this state. Welcome to AirForums.

I understand Airstream founder Wally Byam was a boat enthusiasts himself. I think that accounts for all the vintage Airstream names like Trade Wind, Land Yacht, Flying Cloud, and Airstream terms like "shore power" and the like.

Welcome to the Airstream community. It has a long rich history.

David

Congrats on your new AS! There is a learning curve but if you have been into boating I don't think you will find it to be steep!

Wishing you many happy and safe miles of travel!

How exciting! We traded our 20' Bambi on a 23' International center bed model... LOVE IT. We are currently on the road in it. We also love the salsa interior! Enjoy!

Congratulations on the purchase! We are new Airstreamers too, since picking up our International Signature 23CB about a month ago. I LOVE it. Only a couple of things i wish were different - I wish I had the salsa upholstery and I wish the 3 ZipDee awnings weren't so vanilla (dark grey twill - meh).

Have fun stocking it!
