Rivet New member here and liking it...

Hello to all and what a great forum this is. I have been a member of several other camping/camper oriented forums. This, by far, is the most friendly and informative I've run across. Well now on to my most recent obsession.
I like Airstreams!! We have a small pop-up right now. We need to upgrade. My hopes are to find and purchase
an Argosy 26' or 24' for our family. I really like the layout and self contained features of these rigs. Not to mention the longevity. I am not going to shy away from a unit that needs some work so long as it is not a "basket case". Well, the search begins...

Hello and welcome to the forums!

This is the place to learn all things Airstream! Lots of nice features in an Argosy... good luck on your search. Be sure and check out our classifieds here, then also look at your local Craigslist, eBay, as well as the newspapers, etc. You will surely find the "right" one for you and your family.

Even with a pop-up you might check out the rally calendar and see if there is a forum rally near you... you can drop by and ask questions, most Airstreamers are happy to show their 'streams and answer questions! Sometimes WBCCI rallies are "members only"... but if you find a rally, click and see who is organizing it and send them a personal message or email!

Have fun looking.

Welcome!
Airstream are very popular all over the place - he says sitting on his gaucho and tapping away obsessively at stupid 'o' clock here! Good luck with your search!

There is a small Argosy just listed on the classified ads of this forum. See tab above. It is a few feet shorter than you indicated you want, but the owner needs to sell it this week as he is moving overseas and it seems priced right.

welcome, you are right this is a very nice helpful group. The knowledge here is incredible! There are 2 argosys advertised in a local swapper paper in MA. One is a 28' 1978 for $3,350. the other a 1970 26' for $1,500. If either interest you PM me and I will send you the complete ads with phone numbers.

Rivet

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I am seriously going to look into attending a rally/event close to us. I would like to get a first hand look at some of the work that has been put into some of the Airstreams. And thank you to Bullydogsmom for the news on the Argosy's. We'll be sure to let you know what happens.
This is a great forum with great people.

Thanks for the heads-up 63Silver, I'll be sure to check them out. I know that the right one is out there. I've just got to keep my ear to the ground, as they say. I'll be sure to post any news of our search.

I've found an Argosy that I would be interested in purchasing, but I cannot get a response from them. It is on craigslist PostingID: 80547////. How can I help this person sell their unwanted trailer? I've tried contacting them several times through their listing, with no results. I am dumbfounded.
