Hello to my new Airstream family! We have yet to purchase our first Airstream but are very excited about the prospect. You all know what I mean...we go to all the RV Shows in Florida, plan our driving vacations around visits to other Airstream dealers, and subscribe to all the TT and Airstream magazines. Upon retirement (less than two years away) we plan to load up our fly fishing gear and head out for extended trips...but meanwhile we are seriosly "jonesing" for a taste of Airstreaming! Does anyone know of Airstream rentals? Not just in Florida, anywhere! And just as important we would love to meet and talk- the- talk with Airstreamers in our area.
Wow, I guess this makes us Airstream Virgins....

Hey Barb,

Welcome to the forum. I understand there are untis available for rent at certain KOA's around the US.

As for other Airstream'ers, do a Member searchffor others in your area, and by all means check out the rallies page for a listing of gatherings.

Barbara, I'm in your Capital City. I like to see other Floridians posting to the forum. Of course, I enjoy all the post from all Airstreamians.
I'm pretty new to the forum also. I'm not yet Airstreaming either. I am renovating an Argosy made by Airstream in hopes of Airstreaming or Argosing in the future. ha
Enjoy your Airstreaming, fishing retirement.

Welcome from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

We're about 600 miles from Lauderdale, but I was born and raised in Miami. When I was in high school (early 60's), I spent a lot of time in Fort Lauderdale.

We are Airstreaming in an RV park at Frostproof, FL about 170 miles from FLL. We spend about 6 months in FL before returning to MI. Next week we head for the Everglades and the Keys. Florida is a great place to travel about; the state parks are superb even if is difficult to make a reservation.

Click on "Classifieds"

I was looking at newer units the other day - there are some in Florida that might be of interest to you.

Good luck on your quest. DO spend a lot of time figuring out what the best layout is for you - don't settle for the very first one - and then find the perfect one.

Good luck on your search.

Today is a gift, that's why they call it the present.

Hi Barbara,
Welcome to the group, I'm a relatively new Airstreamer, didn't consider my being one while we were looking, I did join this group more than a year ago. Took that long for the right deal to come along. Once you find the exact fit AS for your needs it makes it a lot easier. We decided on a Land Yacht 30 but it turns out to be 31, looked at this sites classifieds, Ebay, Craigslist and oodles searches. Fun thing is the oodles alert sent wasn't what we were looking for but the ad above was what we wanted, called made appointment to see next day and bought.

While waiting on title transfer, I am in the process of correcting it's problems. Worst were due to inept mechanics where po had it serviced. Also found the installed K and N filter's air intake was mounted wrong, may have caused most of the po problems with fuel and check engine light.
Good Luck on your quest,

Welcome Barbara,

You will be addicted like the rest of us.. Once you find the Airstream of your dreams dont hesitate to ask for someone in your area to lend you a hand and inspect the rig. It could save you time and frustration or maybe just confirm you made the perfect choice. Best of luck!
