New Member-Baja info-Vintage propane fridge problem

Hello, my name is Norm Coyle and my wife is Ellen. I have owned my 1970, 23ft. Airstream since 1990. I haven’t used it a great deal but that going to change as I sold my boat used for cursing Florida and the Bahamas in the winter months since 1985. I plan to visit the Baja in Mexico after Christmas and if any one can give me info on the area I would sure appreciate it.
My vintage Airstream is in good condition with all the original equipment. What prompted me to find this forum was looking for an answer to a small problem that I have with the propane flint sparking mechanism on the refrigeration unit. The mechanism is in good shape, the problem is finding the replacement flint, It takes 1/8 inch diameter and I don’t know if I can still get this size. If anyone has had experience with this or can tell me where I might still find parts on this vintage propane fridge please let me know. Thank you and smooth sailing to you all.
Best Regards, Norm

Norm,

Try Cool-Fun in Industry, CA ( (626) 960-5456)

or, www.gasrefrigeration.net they might have what you need.

Also, in regards to Baja, the West Coast will be cold after Christmas, the East Coast will be nioce and toasty warm....

Thumbs up Baja

Hi Norm,

I have been towing a 21 foot Airstream to the East Cape of Baja (far south but north of Cabo) every year for the last 5 years. What is it that you would like to know about Baja? Maybe I can help out.

Hey Nik, not sure about Norm but I'd sure like any info you have about staying down there. Camps? Facilities? Guess I'd like to spend some time in the Loreto / Mulege area - and points south. Any info much appreciated - including web sites. TIA.
