New member and owner of a 1974 Sovereign.

I would like to go ahead and think all the current members for their contributions to the forum. It has been a big help for me in planning on how to go about this restoration process. I'll be sure to update as I go as well as ask and answer questions along the way.

I purchased a 1974 Sovereign down in Georgia back in January. The gentlemen was in the middle of restoring it when he had to abandon ship (Land Yacht joke). He purchased new appliances, updated some wiring, and replaced the floor with composite plywood. I towed it back to my home in NC to begin my own restoration. I have recently pulled out all the interior skins and insulation for inspection.

Attached are pictures of how I found it. He had all the original partitions in a garage which I loaded up and brought with me of course.

Hey Kyle, welcome aboard! That's the same camper I own, except I'm guessing it is a center bath twin, by the access hatch on the curb side. If you need any pictures of where and how things were originally, let me know. I documented most everything I've done to her in my thread "Resurrecting Big Bertha..." and I covered how to rebuild the Vista View and stack windows on the '74 in a thread titled "rebuilding Vista View and Stack windows in a '74" or at least I think that was the name of it. Lots of pictures and step by step instructions in that one. Only thing that has changed is that Vintage Trailer Supply now carries the shimmed polybutyl weather stripping that is used, so it's a little easier to acquire.

Enjoy the rebuild. Post up pictures as you go... Everybody here loves pictures, and to tell you how they would do it... Me included.

-Red, reliving the dream...

Welcome! There are a few of us out here that LOVE their Sovereigns. I wish you all the best in getting it like you want it.
Always remember to keep it fun. Sometimes it can be overwhelming, but that is part of the deal.
I look forward to your questions, and pictures along the way....

@ Red, it is a center bath. As far as putting it back together, she did come with a service and owner's manual. I'm sure I'll still need help I've been looking up pictures most nights to get ideas.

Thank you to you and Clayton for the welcoming.

You've got about thirty minutes to edit. After that, it's there unless you can convince the mods to change it... Don't worry about typos too much. Everybody makes em.

Aage, I thought we already have a club...

-Red, typo master...
