New Member and New AS Owner

Hello,

New to posting a thread but have been watching from afar for a couple of months and have made most of my decisions reading the numerous threads on this site. You all have been very helpful about what size AS to purchase, boon docking, generators, Micro Air Easy Start for the air conditioner/heat pump, truck size and hitches. Much more to read but thought it was time for an introduction.

Retired from our Navy in 2000. Started a little company which grew and now we manufacture OTC drugs, shampoo’s, lotions, etc. for horses and dogs. 2017 found me starting to wind down and trying to enjoy life instead of working thru it. Really enjoyed RVing as a child with my grandparents so the search began in July of 2017. Last weekend the wife and I purchased a new 2017-28’ RB Flying Cloud and will use the F250 Super Duty to move it around. No pictures yet, but will post some after we pick it up.

Since the wife and I are still working we plan on parking the AS-FC at a local campground for most of the summer and visiting it on the weekends. We have also have two road trips this year (schedules permitting) and hope to add more as we approach retirement.

Don’t want to get long winded so will stop here. Thanks for reading and THANK YOU for all the "Pearls of Wisdom" posted in the various threads. I am open to any and all suggestions/links on the best way to get started Living Riveted.

Welcome from Colorado. Congratulations on your business success, your upcoming retirement, and your new Airstream. I'm glad you found these Forums helpful in your decision, and I bet you will find them helpful with your questions as they arise.

We have been "seeing this great country" of ours since about 2005. Our Airstream is an oldie but goodie 1986 Limited 34'. We've done pretty extensive repairs and upgrades to it through the years. It is fully functional and a comfortable place to be while traveling. We also pull it with a Super Duty. Your new Airstream will last a very, very long time.

I like the vintage Airstream hobby and I am currently renovating a 1975 Overlander 27'. It was in mostly good condition when I bought it last fall. By this spring it will be in very good condition with no apparent needs.

Enjoy your Airstream and the great outdoors.

David

Welcome!

Make the time while you have the opportunity.

Us self employed never seem to “find” the time. That’s when we said we will make it.

Congratulations and best wishes
