New Member and Almost a Newbie

My wife and I are taking delivery on a new Airstream Sport 22FB on March 1st. This is our first travel trailer. We are from San Antonio and we are buying from Airstream of New Mexico and saving nearly $8,000 compared to the best deal we could get in Texas.

We are happy to have found this forum. We have spent the past couple of months getting as educated as we can and we are fortunate to still have another 2.5 months to learn more and gathering items we need to get started.

Congrats on your purchase. There are so many great state parks around SA. I’m assuming your route is I-10 west to I-25 north to Albuquerque. The only reason I say that is because we headed out of Taos earlier this year and decided to cut thru and see some of the country. We got on some of the roughest oil patch roads we’ve ever traveled. I’m not an alarmist, just like to know what to expect. Lastly, The Alamo Unit in SA has some great members. Welcome again and have fun.

We are definitely staying on the freeways rather than the Roswell NM to Ft Stockton (through Pecos TX). We know those bad roads and avoid them like the plague.

Welcome aboard from Colorado. Congratulations on your new Airstream order. I too avoid bad roads, but I consider Interstate highways bad roads. I prefer a pleasant drive on a shouldered state highway if it makes any sense. It takes longer sure, but it is more relaxing and scenic for me.

I hope you continue to participate in these Forums and learn all about your new Sport 22.
