New Member - 92 Excella

My husband and I just purchased a 1992 Excella 25ft in good condition. My grandparents and parents have been Airstreamers for many years and we are so glad to join the group.

We need help in one area. The exterior is losing its clearcoat. I am using my money to replace refrig and other areas so I don't want to use alot of money on the exterior at this time.

Can someone suggest how I can remove the remaining clearcoat myself and then how what to do to preserve the exterior after the removal.

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums. A few gallons of aircraft stripper will remove the rest of the clearcoat. Just be sure to mask or remove any plastic items before you strip the trailer.

About the stripper:

Others have used the citrus stripper. Do a search for stripper, you will find a great deal of good info.

Photos are always a welcome site. As they say misery loves company. Remember that no question is too dumb to ask. Chances are there is someone else here that has done what you need to do.
