new member - 57 Overlander

Hi! I joined the forum a year a go when I bought my 1957, 26' Overlander last year. I've read a lot but never posted anything. This past weekend I picked up my trailer from Northern Idaho and brought it back to the Seattle area with the help of an uncle with a big truck and a kind heart. He tells me that it is easy to tow (good)! The trailer belonged to my grandparents since 1978 when they bought it to live in while building a house. It has been parked there, under a pole shed, since.
We had someone replace the tires and the old split rims, work on the lights and replace some broken windows. The interior is in pretty good condition, the original appliances are near perfect and were working last anyone tried. The floor seems solid, although the linoleum is shot. The varnish on the wood is flaking off but other than that, in good shape. Outsid there are some holes underneath and a couple of patches and a dent in the skin. I think we lost a vent cover on the way here, I'm sure it was there when we left. I plan to make her the beauty she once was! So happy and relieved to find a place where people are willing to share their experience and know how. Thanks!!!

Kudos to you sheepcamp for your intentions. Any vintage of Airstream is fabulous, and I have a soft spot for those early ones. If you've been reading you already know how wonderful the forum is. Really good people here. I know I couldn't have gotten this far without them. Good luck with your restoration.

Congratulations on your 'stream!

I concur with those above, post some pictures as soon as you can! We love both before and after pics!

If you have questions about repairs to your 'stream just ask, this is the place!
