Hello,
After more then 2 years of lurking I have finally registered.

I can't begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed this site. I have spent countless hours reading posts about everything from repairs to travel blogs.
I have always liked Airstreams and 2 years ago I bought one. My wife did not share my love of a/s but she is wonderful and lets me follow my dreams, (most of the time). She has grown to like travel and camping in the alumacave. We have taken trips to Ohio, Maryland, Kentucky, Tenn, N. Carolina.
Our last trip to Maryland was in January, we live in Fla. and I don't like cold weather, but we had a family emergency (her father passed away). We both decided to take the a/s instead of flying. It gave us a chance to test the a/s in cold weather. The temps drop into the low 20's and the a/s preformed like a champ. We were in her parents driveway, the house had 6 bedrooms with one person staying there and we stayed in the a/s. Is my wife a trouper or what? Did I mention that we also stayed in a truck stop for our 20th anniversary?
I'm about two years away from retirement. The plan is to live in Fla. and travel as much as we can. I making a list of all of the places that we want visit. The list keeps getting longer.
I'm still learning how to use this site and I'm not very good with computers. I will post pictures as soon as I get up to speed.
I also breed Olde English Bulldogges and live in a under ground house. I don't worry about no sticking hurricanes.
I'm getting a little long winded here so I'll see ya later.

Welcome. It's about time that you stopped 'lurking'. That's not polite.
Neil.

Welcome,We almost adopted an Olde English, but someone else was one step ahead of us, so we adopted Lucy our English Bulldog, I think our match was meant to be, she's perfect for us.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

Bully dogs are my favorite. I love all dogs, but we all have our favorites. I have had dogs all of my life. Dobies, Rotts, Sheps, Labs and too many mutts that have found and adopted me. We always travel with at least one dog and sometimes two. Oldie English Bulldogs are new to me. I got my first one about three years ago. I was so impressed with the breed I decided to breed them. (Again my wife said why, but OK). They are great dogs.

As for the underground house, That was a project. It is, as far as I know the only one in Fla. We get quite a few visitors to see it. It's basically a cement box that is covered with dirt. In Fla. you can't really go under ground due to the high water table. If I dig a hole 3 feet deep I will hit water. The house is built above grade and then covered with 6 to 8 feet of earth. I like to say 80% reduction in energy cost, hurricane proof and exterior maintenance is reduced. All you have to do is mow the roof once in a while.

I promise I will post pictures as soon as I get the a/s back from the dealer. I'm having the last of the warranty work done and they have had it for over a month.

Talk to you later
Caveman and I guess, Bully dogs Dad...
