Hello from someone seeking this type of adventuring. As I have wanderlust, my sights are set for learning as much as I can to hit the road. I am looking for a small trailer that I can master all by myself and want to know how to get started. I am looking forward to expanding my horizons and meeting new people.

Welcome to the forums! You've come to the right place to learn about all things Airstream. Check out the search feature at the top of the screen, it will be a big help to you as you start your research. Do you have a tow vehicle in mind?

okmax,
Welcome to the forums!
I did a quick search and came up with a number of threads, below are three that deal with the question of "which size" trailer is "best". Of course, you will have the ultimate say in what is best for you, this will give you a lot of things to consider and LOTS of opinions.
I know you are looking for a small trailer, this just gives you things to consider such as - will the trailer you have in mind be large enough for the use you will give it? Etc.

Not really. Does the type of vehicle depend upon the weight of the trailer?

It does help to read what to consider in deciding on the size of trailer. My biggest concern is pulling it since I have never done this before. As for space, I am downsizing and simplifying anyway.

Hi Okmax... I'm a newbie here too, I just bought my 19' Bambi. I'm towing it with a Honda Ridgeline. I did a lot of reading here and elsewhere before I made my purchases and I think it saved me from some very expensive mistakes. I recommend reading "RVing Basics" by Bill and Jan Moeller. I'm sure there are other good books out there, but this one helped me a great deal with a general understanding of systems, capabilities, uses, and operating parameters. Regarding tow vehicle -- I went through the process like this: First, I decided about how big of a trailer I thought I would want. I wrote down it's weights (empty weight, loaded up with water and stuff, and the weight of the tongue of the trailer). Then I went shopping for a truck I liked that could safely handle that weight and a little more. Last, I went back and picked out my specific trailer with the limitations of my truck in mind. Hope that helps! Good luck!

Welcome from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

Your tow vehicle must be adequate for the Airstream that you are towing. There is a lot of information on these Forums regarding this issue. It is probably wise to choose your Airstream, and then select an appropriate tow vehicle and towing euipment.

A good Airstream experience requires a good TT/TV match.
